USPS Carrier Pickup: Send packages without leaving the office
Many practitioners have expressed hesitation toward prescribing custom formulas for their patients during the pandemic, since it would mean making regular trips to the post office. Fortunately, there is a way to ship to your customers without leaving your home or office and at no additional cost.
The following is USPS's description of their Carrier Pickup service, which is the easiest way to ship goods from the office or from home:
What Is Carrier Pickup? The USPS® offers a service called Carrier Pickup™ that allows you to arrange to have your packages picked up by your letter carrier at the same time your mail is delivered. Carrier Pickup is free and available when you send your mail using one of the following methods:
- Priority Mail Express®
- Priority Mail®
- Global Express Guaranteed®
- Priority Mail Express International®
- Priority Mail International®
Your carrier will also pick up packages sent by alternate methods (e.g., Parcel Select Ground, First-Class™, Media Mail, etc.) if there is at least one Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express or approved International package in your shipment. There is no limit to the number of packages you may send via Carrier Pickup, although the maximum weight per package is 70 pounds.
