Tianjiang Pharmaceutical is the global market and technology leader in concentrated herbal extracts. Founded in 1992, Tianjiang was the first manufacturer of concentrated herbal extracts to receive China's Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification for pharmaceutical products. Since then, Tianjiang has developed 30 patents on the extraction, granulation, and packaging of Chinese herbal extracts.
Tianjiang engages in research partnerships with 22 Chinese medicine research universities and 26 leading TCM hospitals, and has lead the industry in the development of quality standards. Its TLC botanical fingerprint standards have been adopted by the China FDA as the standard for all Chinese herb producers. Tianjiang, along with China Pharmaceutical University and Nanjing University, are the three parties invited by US Pharmacopeia (USP) to collaborate on the development of US standards for Chinese herbal extracts.
Currently, Tianjiang produces 700 varieties of herbal extracts made from botanical roots, stems, barks, flowers, fruits, seeds, leaves, mushrooms, and more. Botanical materials are sourced directly from over 300 farms (including 66 of Tianjiang's own farms) to ensure quality from seed through finished product.
Treasure of the East started with a single practitioner, in search of better results with better herbs. Dr. Ann Wang was a practicing Acupuncturist in Ithaca, New York who embarked from her clinic all across China to find better herbs for her patients. She later describing her discovery as "finding the treasure of the East to bring to the US."

Dr. Wang’s determination paid off: upon returning with her treasured herbs to her clinic in the fall of 1994, she began seeing immediate results with patients and a renewed confidence in her craft. Sharing her clinical findings with colleagues, many of whom came from China to teach and practice TCM in the US, the herbs quickly became in-demand in Chinese American TCM communities. As more patients improved, and more practitioners asked for these treasured herbs, it was time to make it official: Treasure of the East began its operations as Tianjiang’s FDA-registered general agent and distributor in the US.
Twenty-six years later, Treasure of the East’s high-potency herbal granules are available through its New York warehouse and its growing family of distributors including Acu-Market, China Herb Company, Four Pillars Herbal Dispensary, Golden Needle, LhasaOMS and others. From its quiet beginnings in the 1990s in Ithaca, New York to being featured on Boston Medical’s “Some Good News” in 2020, Treasure of the East continues to be guided by its founding principle: deliver better results with better herbs.
In sharing our founder’s story, we hope you too will discover the #powerofherbs for your own patients.

offers a complete line of granule extracts made by Tianjiang Pharmaceutical. For over 26 years, Treasure of the East has served the American TCM community, and especially the Chinese-American TCM community, with over 500 varieties of single herbs and formulas.
The herbs were initially brought to the US by Dr. Ann Wang, CMD, LAc, a practicing acupuncturist in New York State and former faculty member at China’s Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, for the benefit of her patients. However, demand grew rapidly by word-of-mouth in the Chinese-American TCM community and the Treasure of the East brand was born.
We have been exceptionally proud to serve American healthcare professionals, medical institutions, contract manufacturers, and health and wellness brands as Tianjiang's federally registered general agent and US distributor. Ours is the only US brand authorized to use the Tianjiang name.
